About
I live with my husband and two children on the East Sussex coast in Hastings, a stone’s throw from my childhood home.
I have always loved reading, particularly psychological thriller novels but in the past seven years, I have also been trying to put pen to paper in writing a novel that I would be proud of and would set me apart from other authors. Guilty is my second novel.
My background is in criminal law where every day brought something new. I have spent a lot of time in Courts and Prisons preparing a persons’ case for trial including meeting a wide range of clientele who, in most cases, would be absolutely terrified of the process and the fear of facing a prison sentence. I find that it brings both the best and the worst out in people. The one thing I am sure of is that in the main part, the truth about most crimes is usually somewhere in the middle because it’s normal behaviour to exaggerate or minimise a real event. People who are emotionally invested cannot see it from another’s point of view and everyone sees things very differently. This was the basis upon which I decided to write Guilty.
My debut novel The Hartford Inheritance was published on Kindle in 2014. This is a psychological thriller about Kitty Harmer who inherits an old manor house in Norfolk where she discovers a past with secrets that have been buried deep.
I’m passionate about telling a story and evoking emotion from a complete stranger. I have so many stories in my head, to spend my days extracting them onto paper would be a dream come true. Hopefully Guilty is my first step towards achieving that.
